Thursday eve 6:30 pm ... Nov 13, 2008

It's already midnite black outside . . . it has been since before 6 pm. There is no long twilight here, this close to the equator. Joe and I had a light snack about 45 minutes ago (main meal is during the day.) He went walking outside (there's a space for walking here on the apt grounds... wouldn't be safe for him to be walking out on the street.) I stayed and talked with Daví, our friend who is our mechanci ... and fed him a snack and some café com leite while we talked. He came to pick up our car that has to have some work done on it (don't ask me to tell you what it is in English... I know what it is in Portuguese . ;) . . . In these years here in Natal, I've learned a lot about cars. Not how to fix them, but all the things that can go wrong with an older car. (Most of the things I find the words in English so Joe knows what is going on - he's the one who understands the fixing. ) Sometimes it's very frustrating... and other times it's very funny. . . and at times can be a definite challenge!

We're getting ready to go to Salvador tomorrow - about 1 1/2 hours south of here by plane. Joe's packed... I've not even started. Today I had a long list of things that had to be done, details here in the house and financial details on the computer. . . plus the other little daily surprises one always has. (we have a faucet at the kitchen sink that will NOT stop dripping... and it should have, with all that's been done to it! . . . one of those mysteries one occassionally has.) I'm deeply thankful to God for I accomplished almost everything I need to do - except pack, and that I'm going to start in a few minutes. And I was VERY thankful when, after putting a lot af into into Quicken and backing it up, Quicken did NOT want to open.... I finally found the right file... thank God! and all is ok ...

Tomorrow morn we have to leave the house at 4:30 a.m.for the airport. Plane leaves at 6 a.m. We arrive in Salvador at 7:30 a.m. .... hopefully someone will pick us up to take us to the hotel. Still have to call and confirm that...

This will be an "adventure." I was in Salvador briefly MANY years ago. It's an old city, fascinating history, a strong historical center for spiritism - from voodoo to Alan Kadec (high spiritism).... The contrast between slums and beautiful neighborhoods, beaches, shops.... the old intermingled with the new. I'll be taking pictures to show you.

We'll be teaching Sat night, Sun morn, Sun night, and possibly Mon night. We're looking forward to it, and to seeing some old friends and making new ones. . . and hopefully, in the down time to see some of the city.... altho that will probably be more for Mon and Tues before we head home. . . then again, who knows? only the Lord, for our lives are in his hands - totally.

Two special times of teaching here in Natal recently. Whenever we teach here, we are so humbled by those whom we teach. ahh... I'll try and get on the computer in Salvador and write something about it all. . .many more people and news.... a wonderful healing in the Igapó church. . .

We are praying for you all in the states: in fact those we love all over the world. . . we are watching and praying . . . so many Biblical prophecies are being fulfilled. . . (On Joe's lesson 97, "Architects of the One World Government", Joe keeps updating it woth more info. When you want, check it out. God knew about this thousands of years ago.)

We continue to depend upon your pryaers as we desire to walk where God wants us to walk.

We love you so much!

Joe & Voni
